US Attorney General Asks for New Season of The Wire

United States Attorney General Eric Holder was holding a hearing on protecting children from exploitation and exposure to drug use, which was attended by actors and showrunners from HBO's megahit The Wire.

In a perhaps-justified abuse of power, Eric Holder demanded that Ed Burns and David Simon come up with a new season of The Wire... or else.

Eric Holder should expect no pushback from either side of the aisle: his demands are entirely justified. Holder and the Wire team were attending the launch announcement for the Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Task Force's website.

“I want to speak directly to Mr. Burns and Mr. Simon: Do another season of ‘The Wire’,” Holder said, drawing laughter and applause from the audience. “That’s actually at a minimum. … If you don’t do a season, do a movie.  We’ve done HBO movies, this is a series that deserves a movie. I want another season or I want a movie. I have a lot of power, Mr. Burns and Mr. Simon.”
