Aubrey Louis Berry is on Trial For the Murder of Roderick Anthony Burton II, Known by His Rap Name Dolla

The jury in the case against Aubrey Louis Berry heard today how Berry fired eight shots at Roderick Anthony Burton II (Dolla) at a crowded mall in Atlanta then went to get his car our of valet parking and drove around Dolla's body lying on the ground.

Robert Grace, the Deputy District Attorney in the case said that Berry fired at Dolla who was struck four times as he tried to run away, while they were in the valet area of the Beverly Center last May.

Dolla was dying on the ground when Berry drove around him in his car.

Aubrey Louis Berry has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon according to Yahoo! News. The Defense is claiming that Berry acted in self-defense.

Aubrey Louis Berry and Dolla's History

The duo had apparently been involved in an altercation in a strip club two weeks before the shooting, and according to Berry's lawyer, he was afraid of Burton. The defense will use some of Dolla's lyrics as evidence to back up their case.

Dolla was considered to be a star on the verge of breaking out in the music world and he had released two songs with Akon at the time of his death.

The trial will last about a week.
