AUROVILLE

The values and ideals of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother have been an inspiration to millions around the globe. It is for peace of mind and control over the mind that people flock on to Pondicherry (Puducherry). The Global village is pretty interesting to anyone who pays a visit to this place. Among those who have come for a visit to this place, many have been attracted beyond all extents so as to settle here for the rest of their life.

Different pavillions and communities, all in a stretch of a few kilometers, would give a better feel of many parts of the world. The resources here are more eco-friendly. People come so close to nature as to restore its past glory.

People from all pavilions gather together at cafes and townhalls for receation and creative cooperation. There are lot of works happening here in this little global village or a universal city. In all its functions, Auroville strives towards human unity. This is clearly evident from the charter.

Auroville Charter

• Auroville belongs to nobody in particular.Auroville belongs to humanity as a whole.But to live in Auroville, one must be the willing servitor of the Divine Consciousness.
• Auroville will be the place of an unending education,of constant progress, and a youth that never ages.
• Auroville
  wants to be the bridge between the past and the future. Taking
  advantage of all discoveries from without and from within, Auroville
  will boldly spring towards future realisations.
• Auroville will be a site of material and spiritual researches for a living embodiment of an actual Human Unity.

The whole city is divided in a well planned manner, into a peace area, industrial zone, residential zone, international zone, cultural zone, and the green belt which surronds the whole city.
