The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, placingChris Gayle and Johnson Charles at the crease to get their innings off to a strong start. 

Despite Gayle's threat with the bat, the 33-year-old was unable to find his rhythm and Australia snatched an early wicket through Jason Hazlewood, who dismissed Gayle for just eight runs. 

Charles had a more steady time at the crease by surpassing a half century before getting bowled out byNathan Coulter-Nile for 57. 

Despite a positive stint for Darren Bravo, the batsman was eventually run out for 32, while Kieron Pollard(26) and Dwayne Bravo (13) also contributed to the run-rate. 

Darren Sammy added 20 more runs from seven balls before leaving the field, while Narsingh Deonarineremained unbeaten on six as West Indies closed their innings on 191-6 after 20 overs.
