Avatar Reviews, Good: Avatar The Movie - A Titanic Hit? (Trailer)
The early movie reviews of Avatar have been good so far. Since its preview screening in the UK a steady stream of positive reports have been coming in for James Cameroon's new 3D epic.
Avatar The Movie the most expensive film ever made. Director James Cameron has been working on Avatar for 4 years, but he wanted to make the film over 10 years ago, choosing to wait for he technology to catch up to his vision. But the question is not so much the technical wizardry of Avatar - which undeniable it is a question character and story.
The film "focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus, one of three fictional gas giants orbiting Alpha Centauri A. On Pandora, human colonists and the sentient humanoid indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the Na'vi, engage in a war over the planet's resources and the latter's continued existence.[5] The film's title refers to an avatar, a 3-D representation of a real person in a virtualized world."
As for the reviews the Washington Post is calling Avatar the Movie a success, with some qualifications
"Is the dialogue corny? You bet. Does the movie go kerblooey in its final moments, during a ferocious, explosive firefight that will leave your eyeballs bleeding? Uh-huh. But Cameron has delivered what he promised with "Avatar": an ambitious, fully immersive cinematic experience."
The Philadelphia Inquirer calls it an "Epic Adventure, and Great Fun"
The reviewer for the New York Times had this to say about Avatar "Created to conquer hearts, minds, history books and box-office records, the movie — one of the most expensive in history, the jungle drums thump — is glorious and goofy and blissfully deranged."
The critics have tended to dismiss the films of James Cameron especially Titanic - The "king of the world" ( a kid from Canada) grabbed Oscar gold and thumbed his nose at those who panned the film.
This time it seems the critics have tentatively embraced James Cameron's latest 3D cinematic venture.

The first matrix was my all time favorite movie that I could watch over and over again as a child and adulthood. Avatar has knocked the Matrix out of my favorite list. Avatar is the best movie I ever seen in my life. I'm 24 now

I was at the first screening here in Brisbane AUS, and saw it in 3D. The last time I had 3D glasses on was when I watched a horror flick as a young lad. Back then one celluloid lens was red, the other blue. But these glasses are different again....slightly tinted, but allow all colors clearly visible through them. I was hoping they'd work ok....and work they did. I saw a few brief trailer clips on tv and thought...."yeah, ok..."But the movie.....this was something else !! 3D foreground objects literally filled the movie theater. But the movie itself....."what about the movie..??" Absolutely stunning in every sense of the word ! The plot, the acting, the cinematography, the special effects.....all were crafted at a high level. But visually it will leave you lost for words when the 3hr long movie ends.....I promise you. Peter Jackson has seriously outdone himself in terms of the special effects. And yes.....the movie lives up to all the hype, and if anything, the hype is a bit on the conservative side. This is a "must see" and yes......this sets a whole new benchmark for both crafting and special effects. Enjoy !

AVATAR in 3D...UNREAL!!!!!!Visually the BEST film EVER!!!!!!The story line was even great. I've seen too many movies with great visuals and STUPID story lines that just really muffles the movies bang factor.Every movie needs to be in 3d if you ask me.I wont babble too long but.....this movie is on the next level on production. The hype that you heard about this movie is 4real! When I see presentations of this caliber after I finish raving about it I realize that God gave someone/some individuals the imagination and ingenuity to bring something like this to cinematic life. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD FOREVER!
