Given the time it took, I'm betting the album won't have much of a spontaneous rock n' roll vibe to it. Perhaps more of a calculated, "holding the guitar too tight" feel.
He did luck out with a topical title though, given the news lately.
Guns 'N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has confirmed that the long-awaited album Chinese Democracy will finally be released in the autumn. The announcement came on a surprise radio show appearance in the US alongside Skid Row's Sebastian Bach.
The album, the final in GNRs long list of successes, has been over ten years in the making but Rose promised that the release date would be "sometime this fall or late fall" before adding categorically, "It will be out this year."
Axl also suggested that guitarist Izzy Stradlin may be joining the band for their New York shows.

Wow! It would have to be absolutely massive, in order to recoup the overall expenses, between the recording, the lawsuits, and the time spent on this project (it cost something like $244,000 per month). G'n'R was ahead of its time in the late eighties, but now how will music fans react? Slash is now known to a whole new generation of fans via Guitar Hero, but Axl Rose? I'm not sure. (I also don't think that Chinese Democracy is that great an album name; Axl is welcome to check out my blog and take whatever he likes)
