The Balancing of the Eggs

We tried this experiment on the Spring Equinox after reading an article which explained why this is possible.

The article claimed that one can only balance an egg on a Vernal Equinox, Spring Equinox or Autumn Equinox - when the Sun is directly above the Equator, when we experience a day and night of equal length. The reason being that the Sun's gravitational force is in balance on a Vernal Equinox.

So we tried it, and it worked. I later found out that this is also possible on any other day of the year.
