Bali Is Not A Paradise
Bali, island of a thousand temples- charming, beautiful, captivating and alluring. Images of lush, green paddy fields, ancient temples, exotic performance of traditional dances, friendly people, peaceful beaches and intricate carvings arise when people think about Bali. The combination is so beautiful, that makes Bali very special and memorable. ….. OH MY GOD, WHAT A MOUTHFUL!!!
Yes indeed, you can find pieces of heaven in these parts of Bali:
Ubud - the best place in Bali to break out of the tourist mode and get off the beaten path, although far from undiscovered,Tabanan - most tourists don’t want to stop here too long, it’s just a small town full of historical points,
Jatiluwih - famous with the beautiful rice terrace unfolding from the foot of mountain until the coastal side,
Uluwatu - this is the most spectacular temple on the island of Bali. The inner sanctum of the pura is perched majestically on the edge of a steep cliff that towers above the legendary surf breaks of southern Bali,
Besakih - known as the ‘Mother Temple’ in Bali. The largest and most important temple on the island, it sits on the western slopes of Gunung Agung,
and many other fascinating regions. Well, at least if you’re not stunned by their beauties, those place could make you smile while you’re taking a deep breath…Oh yeah, did I already mention the beaches? Kuta’s pubs and nightclubs will still alive until 4 a.m. Almost any kind of entertainment served there… Hey surfers, welcome to my paradise! But amazingly, among those tourist hustle and bustle, a religious ritual rites and procession are not rare things to witness.
Thanks to those beautiful region, that make Bali become one of the most popular and interesting tourist destination in central Indonesia and has been appointed by the Indonesian government to be the center and pilot project of tourism development.
But Bali is not a paradise, it’s just a small island, a few travel agents in Bali boasting about Her with hyperbolic words… that could lead into misconception, people who never knows Bali will come here with great expectation. And then when he already stays in Bali and unfortunately something bad occurs during his activities in Bali, he found out that the area he visits is not as “WOW!!!” and “AHHAAA!!!” as described on brochure… that could break his heart. He’ll directly going home with mumbo jumbo profanities spinning around his head.
Once again, Bali is not a a paradise… to some people, Bali slaughtered their dreams and hopes. Amrozi for example… he bombed paddys and sari club, he laughed victoriously but then whose got the last laugh…. Bali healed so fast, people from around the globe keep coming and adore Her. What about Amrozi? He’s counting his last days on earth… nevermind about him.
One more time, Bali is not a paradise… for me it’s just a chaotic place, hundreds of motorbikes and cars incessantly sounding their horns and people really didn’t seem to know what was going on, and the worst thing is, in here bule (western people) drives like my grandma… But why i can’t leave this place? what’s make me deeply in love with this “fake paradise” ? i wish i have the answer for that question.
So, what’s the moral of this story? I don’t know, really!! I just humbly invite you, whenever you have time, when your wallet is fully loaded, when everything is under control… please drop by, pay a visit to our small tropical island. We will greet you with the sweetest smile!! Stay for a little longer, perhaps you could help me find the answer…
