Catwoman Unleashed in Batman: Arkham City

The new trailer for Batman: Arkham City is out, and Rocksteady knows just how to market it: feature some Catwoman scenes.

Whoever created those cutscenes was heavily influenced by Underworld, i.e. Kate Beckinsdale's backside. Watch for the visual quote from Wanted, as well. As with Arkham Asylum, Arkham City focuses on texture and sound design to create a fantastically immersive experience.

And, yes, you can play as Catwoman. The trailer doesn't show any co-op gameplay, but it seems a logical next step.

I also like how Heath Ledger's Joker is becoming the default version. That is as it should be, though Caesar Romero will always have a place in our hearts.

If you're wondering what song is playing over the second half of the trailer, it's "Get Some", by Lykke Li. Her latest album, Wounded Rhymes, is a must-listen.

Batman: Arkham City drops, cat-like, on October 18. Check out the Catwoman trailer below... oh, never mind. You clicked Play several seconds ago. Why is Catwoman wearing heels and makeup? Running would be tough, as would be sticking those acrobatic landings. Lipstick seems pointless if your whole thing is "not being seen". I'm clearly overthinking it.
