You heard it here first, a small BC Comox Valley Community has stolen Frances' 500 year old top honour as the "Worlds Biggest Blouse Wearing, Brie Eating, Poodle Walking, Surrender Monkeys", named by "Groundskeeper Willy" (The Simpsons) .  The Comox community has beaten out France, the original makers of Brie Cheese in a world Brie Competition.

COURTENAY -- The best brie cheese in the world is produced in the Comox Valley.

Paul Sutter, artisan cheese maker and co-owner of Natural Pastures Cheese Company, took the Best of Class prize in the 2008 World Championship Cheese Contest for his Comox brie cheese.

"Definitely that's the crown of my career," said Sutter, no stranger to cheese awards with several first-, second- and third-place finishes in Canadian cheese competitions.
