Beavis and Butthead Are Back!

Beavis and Butthead will be making a triumphant return to MTV during the summer of 2011. After a 14-year absence from the small screen, Beavis & Butthead's original target audience are now in middle- and upper management. This is both scary and awesome.

My own favorite Beavis & Butthead moment was when the two adolescents lose their minds when confronted with a Nina Hagen video ("Herman Was His Name"). That's it. Just two suburban kids faced with unshaved armpits. Hey since Nina Hagen is still around, and just released a record last year.MTV should present Beavis & Butthead with some new material. Oh, and their silent dismissal of Milli Vanilli.

Also noteworthy were Beavis and Butthead's reactions to "Gin and Juice" and "The Safety Dance".

I first saw Beavis & Butthead in a clip featured at Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted Animation Festival. "Frog Baseball". Also, if f memory serves, another clip involving a hippie getting run over by a monster truck at a mud-bog. Classic.

The original series aired from 1993-1997 on the once influential American cable network and spawned a successful tie-in comic book from Marvel that ran for three years. Judge, who also voices the titular characters as well as much of the supporting cast, will return as executive producer of the new Beavis & Butt-Head, which will simply pick up where the original left off.

Beavis and Butthead's T-shirts say "Metallica" and "AC/DC" respectively, but which read "Death Rock" and "Skull" on all the merchandising, due to trademark issues. MTV could not license a toy with AC/DC's actual logo, for example.

Can't wait for their triumphant return. Is MTV bringing Daria back too? They did a GPS voice for her recently which was funny as hell www.navtones.com/daria-voice-for-gps.html
