Cat Power plays Manchester Academy 1
The postmodern reverend of random has a new album coming out July 8. It's called Modern Guilt and features a Cat Power accompaniment on one song.

Modern Guilt strikes me as a great album name. I don't know what it refers to exactly, but I think I experience it a lot.
After a good month of speculation, Beck has finally announced a release date, tracklisting and title for his upcoming new album. On July 8, the record indeed dubbed Modern Guilt will hit North American shops via DGC and feature a modest ten tracks that amount to roughly 30 minutes of tunes to keep you company. The album will also feature a collaboration with none other than Cat Power, whose Chan Marshall lends her voice to the track “Walls.”

According to the press release, you can expect those Danger Mouse-produced songs to "vacillate between economy and experimentation, hybrid and pop classicism, while consistently manifesting Beck and Danger Mouse's shared interest in psych-rock, folk, electronic minimalism and orchestration."

Also, as we previously reported, Beck has lined up a series of summer tour dates, some which involve stepping onto Canadian soil with South Carolina alt-country rockers Band of Horses.
