Best of the Best for TomKat - again.

The very first Desmosedici RR production model will be taken home by Tom Cruise, for something close to $73,000 USD. As a new (and fiercely proud), Ducatista, this gives me one reason to (*yikes*) envy Tom Cruise.

While I try to reconcile my torn loyalties after the company lost Loris Capirossi on thier Moto GP team, now I have to picture Tom's little happy dance.

"The RR derives from the Ducati Corse Grand Prix racing Desmosedici GP6,
the same bike with which Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau competed
with in the 2006 MotoGP World Championship. With a power output of 200 HP* at 13,800 rpm and a torque of 11.8 kgm*
at 10,500 rpm, the new D16RR engine follows the guidelines laid down by
the Ducati Corse GP engine" - http://www.ducati.com/en/bikes/my2008/FamilyPage.jhtml?family=DesmosediciRR

and just so you know... Casey Stoner and the Ducati team are leading the way in pre-season testing in the MotoGP world... and on race tires, not qualifyers (if anyone DOESN'T think I'm a geek yet, well, now you should)... just so you know.

It'd be like sitting in commuter traffic in a F1 car...

I think that's way to much bike for little Tom.

What do you get the man that has everything money can buy!? A bigger version... next he'll build himself a track or ship it back to Xemu/Xenu to race in their world cup. To quote Valentino Rossi... 'the bike is from another world'. Tom actually said in the article that he likes to ride up to Montecino at 2am... not on this, he doesn't... he'll fly, literally!
