Now you CAN bet on everything. Online Sportsbook, BetUS.com has recently put out props on who Technorati.com will rank as the top blog by the end of 2007. They did a similar prop last year and I think Engadget was number one. Here are the odds and how blog betting works.

Here are this year’s Blogs and their odds to win:

Blog

Odds to Win

Engadget.com

-200

TechCrunch.com

+300

Boingboing.net

+500

Lifehacker.com

+1200

Gizmodo.com

+300

Huffingtonpost.com

+1000

Arstechnica.com

+1200

Wordpress.org/development

+1400

Mashable.com

+1600

Beppegrillo.it

+2500

For the average blogger that hasn't brushed up on their odds reading recently (or hasn't raced off to Wikipedia to get the low-down on online betting), here's how it works (and remember, all odds are based on $100 bets, but you don’t NEED to bet that much):

Let's say you fancy that Huffingtonpost.com is going to be the top blog. If you're right, your $100 bet pays you back $1000 (+1000 odds) for a cool $900 profit. Betting on the favored Engadget.com (-200 odds) will cost you a $200 wager to win $100 ($300 total return).
