Today is Remembrance Day in Canada (and other countries) , and we wear the red poppy (due to the poem In Flanders Field, written by Canadian John McCrae) in memory of those who died fighting for our freedom.

Please take two minutes out of your day to remember them.

And if you have time listen to this wonderful song from singer Terry Kelly called "A Pittance of Time"

For the past year my daughter and her friends have been working to restore a war memorial at her High School (she's the one in the googles ;D)-I am pleased to say they finished just in time for their Remembrance Day assembly on Friday-way to go!

She took this project on herself because she was disgusted by the state of the memorial last year-now the school is going to get the woodwork cleaned and new flags etc....I'm very proud of her and her friends!
