Beyonce: 'Run the World (Girls)' Video Goes Post-Apocalyptic

The video for Beyonce's latest single, "Who Run the World (Girls)", is now live. You can check it out below. We're still not crazy about the song, but you can't hate a Beyonce video, and "Who Run the World (Girls)" is no exception. High production values, and what looks like a nod to a viral photo of men pet hyenas from a while back (All sorts of rumors spread about who these guys were: they were traveling circus performers).

The post-apocalyptic intro to "Run the World (Girls)" takes a page from Dr. Dre's and Tupac's playbook, and dovetails nicely with all the May 21/Armageddon/Harold Camping coverage that's flooding the web. Take heart, heathens: you may end up in a Beyonce video, and that ain't bad. Who knew that post-apocalyptic desert showdowns would be settled in a dance-off, with costume changes?

The comment thread on the BeyonceVEVO video detail page is as entertaining as the video itself, but in a more soul-crushing way.
