Ever wonder if your favourite singer is actually able to pull it off live?

Beyonce came under the scrutiny of the always-likeable shock jock Howard Stern on Wednesday when his show played an alleged leak of a "raw, unedited, 'board mix'" of the popular R&B singer's 2008 performance on The Today Show — in which she appeared to sound like a 'cat being strangled'.

Beyonce's father shot back declaring the audio track to be a fabrication and, today, Beyonce spoke publicly to address the haters who think that she can't carry a tune.

Calling the leaked audio a hoax, Beyonce said claims that she can't sing are "completely ridiculous".

Radio jock Howard Stern played the recording yesterday, in which it appeared that Beyonce was drastically off-key during her rendition of ‘If I Were A Boy’.

Today she told MTV that the story "sounds completely ridiculous" and said "Everyone's heard me sing and it's perfect timing, actually, because I'll be on the ’Today’ show tomorrow singing 'Halo', or tonight you can watch me sing live on David Letterman! It's perfect promotion, whoever came up with that idea."

It wasn't a hoax at all on Stern's end. It's possible whoever sent it in faked it but it sounded pretty real to me, not that I would know or care about the way she sings her horrible music.

Fla fla flooey.

i'd like to weigh in on this one: i saw her live and she blew me away...in fact, i just about fell over fourteen times during her concert because it was that phenomenal.  the woman can sing, straight up. she doesnt need any of howard stern's feeble p.r. attempts, clearly.

It was just something they played, among 1000 other things. It happens to be a comedy show. Lol@ PR. They didn't create it, I guess you don't listen.
