Bill Maher Chocolate Jesus Joke: Did TV Host Deserve to be Booed?
Obama is "not an infallible chocolate Jesus" may be the most politically incorrect thing to ever come out of the mouth of Bill Maher. Maher, who has built his career saying things that are un-PC, recently declared that President Obama "is not an infallible chocolate Jesus," a comment that promptly got the TV host booed.
It is unclear if the controversy is over his choice of "chocolate Jesus" as a descriptive for a black president or whether it is due to the fact that he said Obama was NOT infallible. Either way, the chocolate Jesus comment got the controversial TV host booed.
The famous former host of Comedy Central's Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, who now hosts the HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher, may have ruffled more than a few feathers with the chococlate Jesus reference, but it is important to take the comment in context.
Bill Maher, who was angrily booed by his audience for making the chocolate Jesus quip, was simply pointing out that the current US President is not as easy a target for political humorists as his last two predecessors. The words "he's not an infallible chocolate Jesus" were designed to drive home the point that one day Obama will do something to make himself an easy target for a bad joke... or two.
The real injured party in the Bill Maher chocolate Jesus controversy is not President Obama, it is poor Kanye West, the man Maher really mocks...
“Obama is a harder target now in that he's *not* horny, he's *not* stupid, he's *not* angry, he *doesn't* cheat on his wife, he's *not* fat. He's not all these things that we had in the last two presidents that were so easy to make fun of. But he's not an infallible chocolate Jesus, either.”
He takes a comic beat, then adds: “That's Kanye West.”

This was already heard during the election campaign being used by GOP backers in a pejorative fashion. I'm sure Obama understands his point. Too bad a lot of pinheads don't.

I don't remember any booing. More like a 'ohhh' wow kind of reaction. That said, I thought it was humorous.
