I have always had a passion for photography. Even  more when  photographic images are recorded in black and white. Photographs in this format capture your imagination a lot more quickly. The images stike you as truly realistic.  No pretty colours to cloud your judgement. Lighting plays a more important role in defining your photograph. Textures, shadows and forms are more enhanced in the mind's eye when looking at black and white photographs. Black and white images have always come across to the viewer as more powerful way of expression.

I have always enjoyed the photography of  Yousuf Karsh and Ansel Adams. Two of the world's most talented black and white photogrphers.

Photographs included with this story were taken at Campbell River, British Columbia. From my time having lived there at this west coast fishing community.

So what is your view on the world of black and white photography?
