Blake Lively Honored at Chanel Dinner Party

All dolled up for a fete in her honor, Blake Lively was the center of attention at La Grenouille in New York City on Wednesday night (March 2).

The "Gossip Girl" beauty turned up at the swanky Big Apple locale as she partook in an intimate dinner hosted by the highly-regarded fashion brand Chanel.  

As for the reason behind the soiree, Miss Lively opted to partake in the Stateside dinner for her collaborative effort with Chanel - as she's the face of their Mademoiselle handbag collection.

Wearing a white ruffled dress from the designer's 2009 collection, Blake credited her mother with educating her on fashion. As the daughter of a model, the 23-year-old actress that she was exposed to beautiful clothing and often accompanied her mother on trips to the fabric store.

Last night's La Grenouille function was put together in lieu of Blake going to Paris for Chanel's runway show during fashion week, as the 23-year-old is quoted as saying that she "thinks it's tacky for a celebrity like herself to attend the show."

Lively is expected to attend a private function in the French capital for the Mademoiselle handbag line however.

In other fashion news, it was recently revealed that Blake has a style of shoe named after her by famous designer Christian Louboutin.

Reports tell that the 'Blake' footwear is a "high-heeled sandal features seven straps in a rainbow of different colors, each fastened with a button. The heel and sides are black patent, while the sole, of course, is pillar-box red."

Of meeting Louboutin while filming her CW show in Paris, Lively told, "I went to [Louboutin's] atelier and I was walking around, like every shoe here is so beautiful and I saw this one pair and I said 'I've never seen anything like it.'"
