The Blogger President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
I was happy to find out that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a Blogger just like me, look at his blog:
Wandering around his blog , interested to know what are his views as a blogger, on Israel, I found nothing more than his well known official statements. So I wrote in the search box ‘Israel’ under ‘comments’ and get the following results:
A further step on his blog, takes me to the link of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei (see here). There, under the label Membership, I tried to sign up under ’General members’, hoping to receive in my inbox the latest news provided with other useful information. But without success.I could not write my name in Arabic ( the only language) and under ‘Country’ Israel is ommited , look:
If this is Israel’s fate then what about Palestine? well she exist and is called ‘Palestine (Occupied), look:
Now this seems to pose some problems. For example, a good koscher Israeli citizen, wanting to sign up for a newsletter, if he is not fluent in Arabic, needs the help of an Jewish Israeli knowing arabic or an Arab Israeli. Supposing he overcome the hindrance, then he has to lie, and under ‘country’ write, for example, Belgium, a not very moral behaviour when signing up to the newsletter of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei.
But what about an Israeli Arab who wants to sign up for the newsletter? If he signs up under country ’Palestine (Occupied), he will not lie in the Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenein context, but his dilemma is: does he really wants to live in today’s Palestine ? If no, he to is lying to the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei. Not very nice.
On the same Presidents Ahmidinejad blog there is a link to PRESSTV ( Iranian international news network, broadcasting in English) where the headline is: ‘Syria: Israel behind Beirut bombing‘ (12 Dec 2007). Here, I see, suddenly Israel come back to life.
Well, finally I quote..”Mohammad Ali Abtahi, a former vice president who updates his own blog daily, is not impressed with Mr. Ahmadinejad’s blog, calling the president’s site’just a formality.’ “. see here…Life is really complicated.

korzac, Ahmadinejad's blog is interesting and your observations are always intriguing.

The intriguing things are always 'Found Objects' awaiting for someone to put them together. Ahmadinejad's blog and his links to other sites of the Iranian Authorities, are terrific sources to show the wirlpools of chaos they induce in the everyday life of many people.

A rather strange conundrum indeed!

'Conundrum' is a good description. The trouble is, that it has to do with real people.

korzac, thanks for this. I think Ahmadinejad's blog is an interesting model for other world leaders--could we see Bushy or Canada's Harper with a blog? Not really, but what if? I also like how he's mandated himself to spend 15 minutes a day on it--most of which he spends answering the mail, he says. I wonder who he answers and what he says? How does one get a reply from the President of Iran?
Good stuff.

There are many blogs "In the name of..." or "The official site of..." but real personal blogs where leaders communicate directly with "you" and "me"...I didn't find. Perhaps other people, more interested in the subject, may find something newsworthy.
Kaitlin thanks for the comment and the flag.

He is seriously crazy. The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Thanks to the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a new word has entered the political vocabulary: mahdaviat.
Not surprisingly, it's a technical religious term. Mahdaviat derives from mahdi, Arabic for "rightly-guided one," a major figure in Islamic eschatology. He is, explains the Encyclopaedia of Islam, "the restorer of religion and justice who will rule before the end of the world." The concept originated in the earliest years of Islam and, over time, became particularly identified with the Shi‘ite branch. Whereas "it never became an essential part of Sunni religious doctrine," continues the encyclopedia, "Belief in the coming of the Mahdi of the Family of the Prophet became a central aspect of the faith in radical Shi‘ism," where it is also known as the return of the Twelfth Imam.
Mahdaviat means "belief in and efforts to prepare for the Mahdi."
