Blur Releases Two New Singles

Art-school pop-rockers Blur are back. After the sea-change that was Gorillaz, Damon Albarn hasn't forgotten his first band. Blur has two new singles, and you can hear them here.

Blur used Twitter to announce a livestream performance of new material, and then to release two new singles, "The Puritan" and "Under the Westway". Check out the new Blur songs below, as well as a band interview with Channel 4's Matthew Cain. Oh, and here's the live performance:

The new tracks tie in with the upcoming release of Blur 21, a box set of Blur's seven studio albums, celebrating the 21st anniversary (!!!) of Leisure. Yes, if you were an alt-rock-loving American teen, you corrected everyone who pronounced it /LEE-zher/.

Come 1994, though, you had to choose a side: Blur or Oasis.

Blur will be playing the BT London Live concert on August 12 to herald the end of the 2012 Olympics, along with New Order (sans Peter Hook) and The Specials.

(The Westway is the stretch of the A40 that goes through White City, Notting Hill, Westbourne Green, and Paddington in London.)
