NP Rank:
Bob Dylan - The oldest musician to have No 1 album!
Music is one of the few things most people have in common, it is something we all share and sometimes helps to hold us together through life.
That is the title of Bob Dylan's new album, "Together Through Life." The album was released April 27 and has ten new songs written and sung by the amazingly talented and influential musical artist.
Bob Dylan, the folk music legend, is back to his usual ways... Topping the charts. Dylan has topped the UK album chart for the seventh time in his illustrious career and that too nearly 40 years since his last number one LP. All hail King Dylan....
According to Billboard, Dylan’s first chart-topper in America was 1974’s collaboration with the Band, Planet Waves.
This table topping feat just reinstates the fact that Legends are forever. Bob Dylan has proved it time and again that he is still the evergreen star that is so used to churn out hit after hit and chart toppers with relative ease.
Together Through Life is the folk music legend's 33rd studio album, according to the Official Charts Company.
He last topped the UK chart with New Morning in 1970. His first, in 1964, was The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.
The legendary folk star now holds the record for the longest gap between chart-topping albums by a solo artist.
New record
Jones' 1999 comeback, Reload, topped the UK chart more than 31 years after Delilah reached the top in 1968.
Together Through Life was recorded late last year and is Dylan's first studio album since 2006 and is his 53rd album, including compilations and soundtracks.
The album chart's other highest new entry was The Enemy's second album, Music For The People, which went straight in at number two.
That is one place down from their 2007 album We'll Live and Die in These Towns.
The Fame, the debut album by New Yorker Lady Gaga, fell two places to number three.
In the singles chart, Tinchy Stryder's Number 1 claims the top spot for the second week running.
Newcomer La Roux remains at number two with In For The Kill and the highest new entry was Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer), a collaboration between UK hip-hop artists Ironik and Chipmunk and Sir Elton John, which went in at number three.
Lets hope we get to hear many more of the legends legendary creations!

I really want to listen to this album - I've heard mixed reports about it.

Well... Reports may be mixed or even be worse, but if a song sounds good to you, reviews can take a rest!

I like Dylan but how is this album different than the last ones he's been making? Those were equally as good if not better. So is there some hit single I don't know that is driving this thing? Some weird promotion? I just don't hear a huge difference other than a more gravely voice.
