Body found in River Medway in Tonbridge
Kent Police have recovered a body from the River Medway in Tonbridge, over the weekend, after reports of a teenage boy jumping in the water late on Saturday night.
Local witnesses said that police with helicopters searched the area having heard that he got into difficulties. Later, they confirmed a boy's body had been found and said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
Friends and family of the boy (name not fully disclosed yet) displayed flowers, balloons and cards at The Great Bridge. Some of them 'remember his smile' and that 'he loved walking the dog'.The Horizon Project, which helps young people towards independence, through vocational training in joinery and furniture restoration, also displayed their condolences. Local residents have been talking about the incident.

She (the policewoman) said: "Officers had been searching the area following reports received at 10.45pm on Saturday that a teenage boy had been seen getting into difficulty after jumping into the river near Tonbridge Castle." The newspaper will publish more details on Friday.

In the past, a number of people have died in the River Medway at Tonbridge. Some of the deaths were due to the effects of alcohol.
