Bones renewed for 7th season

Fox's hit TV show Bones was renewed for a seventh season, according to an announcement released today. This is effective for the 2011-2012 season.

The program, which stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, debuted six years ago in September of 2005. For the announcement, Fox was in full touting mode about the series: "'Bones' is creatively fresh, it’s a rock-solid player every time it airs and this season it has helped us win on Thursday nights for the first time in our history,” says Kevin Reilly president of Fox Entertainment. "Hart Hanson and the fantastic cast and crew, as well as the millions of loyal 'Bones' fans, make this show really special, and I’m excited to have it on our air for another stellar season."

Although a renewal of some form was expected, the news is welcome coming in the wake of Deschanel's recent pregnancy, and its still unknown the exact effect that might have on the television program for this season.
