Daddy Cool is OK, so Rasputin, and Brown Girl In The Ring, but Boney M performing Rivers of Babylon is apparently too sensitive for organizers of the Palestinian International Festival in Ramallah, the West Bank.

Rivers of Babylon quotes from the Book of Psalms which refers to the exiled Jewish people seeking a return to the ancient land of Israel.

Lead singer Maizie Williams said Palestinian concert organizers told her not to sing "Rivers of Babylon." The song's chorus quotes from the Book of Psalms, referring to the exiled Jewish people's yearning to return to the biblical land of Israel.

"I don't know if it is a political thing or what, but they asked us not to do it and we were a bit disappointed that we could not do it because we know that everybody loves this song no matter what," she said.

Boney M an ageless multi-platinum pop-disco band dating back to the mid-1970s has a world wide following.
