Having only won one of their last five games in all competitions (drawn 2 lost 2), Dortmund are not much the favourites they had once been expected to be. However, with the home crowd behind them and with the resulting vengeance from Wednesday's DFB Pokal elimination, they might just put up enough of a fight to overcome Hannover.

Possibly standing in between them and the three points are the most significant absentees Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski. Hummels missed the cup match with a viral infection, but Jürgen Klopp believes that he might recover in time for the match. Otherwise, Felipe Santana will fill in the gap in defense. Lewandowski will be serving a ban for his sending off against Hamburg, but the result of his appeal is not yet confirmed. Julian Schieber, however, is free to make an appearance after his suspension.

"This coming week will be as tough as it gets for us," Klopp said. "(Hannover's attack) is anything but run-of-the-mill. But all lines of attack can be defended against."

"We shouldn´t take about weaknesses, but exploit them," he also commented about the opponents' leaky defense, which has already seen 42 goals conceded this season.

Hannover, on the other hand, are in fine form, having won four of their last five games and put five goals past Hamburg in their last game. After a drop in form at the end of last year, they currently sit seventh and are just one point away from the Europa League spots.

The visitors do have a lengthy injury list, though. Mame Diouf had missed training with an ankle problem and remains a doubt, while Szabolcs Huszti's hamstring issues rule him out. The duo could be replaced by Didier Ya Konan and Konstantin Rausch on Saturday. Mario Eggimann's broken leg rules him out of this season, while Steve Cherundolo and Leon Andreasen are sidelined with knee injuries.

"I hope we can maintain our away form from our last few games. Our fitness is high and we are physical at the moment and that’s something we want to show that again on Saturday," coach Mirko Slomka told the club website. Hannover will be looking to exploit Dortmund's mentality and their recently unpleasant home form to clinch the three important points.
