Brad Garrett: Racist Remarks, "Wear a Turban" Spark Backlash
Brad Garrett is in some hot PR water after racist remarks were uttered during an angry exchange between the Everybody Loves Raymond star and the paparazzi.
Garrett told one paparazzo to "Wear the turban" while they were arguing over an unwelcome photo op. He taunted the man to a physical fight and yelled at paparazzo "in English, in Enlgish" while they exchanged words.
Brad Garrett ignited a new racial firestorm yesterday when the giant actor dropped some serious slurs at a paparazzo during a heated argument in the middle of the street.
We don't know what set off the scuffle, but Garrett can be clearly heard saying, "Wear the turban! Wear the turban!" People had to restrain both Garrett and the photog from attacking each other, but eventually Brad got into his car and drove off.
This is not the first tim Brad Garrett has been caught in a racist scandal. He once told an African-American paparazzo "I didn't know there were black people in Malibu. Go back to where you came from."
Garrett's racially insensitive comments have prompted calls from Nawar W. Shora, the director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, to suggest the actor needs to learn more about other races. "Sinking down to racial and ethnic slurs is very disappointing and highlights the need for a greater understanding. There's so many stereotypes there and we're at a time and place now where we should be past that."
Celebrity bloggers like Perez Hilton have already condemned Brad Garrett's words with some harsh ones of their own. Calling Garrett a "F*ckt@rd" on his blog, Perez Hilton was merciless in his disdain.
Garrett screamed "In English! In English!" to the paps snapping away at the actor!
Before speeding off, Garrett lost verbal control and yelled, "Wear the turban! Wear the turban!"
Brad found himself in a world of trouble back in 2007 when the actor told a pap, "I didn't know there were black people in Malibu
. Go back to where you came from."
When will he learn???

99% of men or women (yes, women too) who wear turbans in American are likely to be Sikhs, and not Muslim or Arab. Sikhism is an Indian religion and is often ignorantly confused with Islam or middle eastern cultures, and consequently falls victims to hate crimes and racism.
