Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Won't Split, Rumor Proved False

The weekend was filled with reports that Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were splitting up after nearly five years as a couple.

The report that started the rumor came from British publication News of the World on Saturday, and picked up steam until being squashed Monday by People.com, Perez Hilton and TMZ.

TMZ released a report saying multiple sources denied the breakup.

"There's a report out that Brad and Angie are calling it quits. One source -- who should know -- says, "It's B.S."

BTW -- it's a guarantee the two won't be getting a divorce, because the two are not married."

The report said the couple had hired a divorce lawyer to split their £205 fortune as well decide how to handle the upbringing of their six children - adopted Maddox, eight, Pax, six and Zahara, five, and their natural children Shiloh, three, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17 months. According to the News of the World report, the couple would have joint-custody of the children.

Rumors of a breakup between Pitt and Jolie have been around a while, and this weekend’s report was only fueled by Pitt’s solo appearance at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon on Friday night. Or perhaps it was Brad Pitt’s new beard. Either way, Brangelina remain a couple.
