Brad Pitt Mentions "Death Penalty" And BP Oil Executives In Spike Lee's Documentary - If God is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise.

That superstar Brad Pitt is passionate about helping to rebuild New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina is no surprise. After all, his Make It Right non-profit (which is building 150 homes in the hurricane zone) is featured in Spike Lee's new documentary on New Orleans called If God is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise.

The Spike Lee documentary integrated the story of the BP Oil Spill as it unfolded and as the crews were there initially to document the continuing efforts of rebuilding New Orleans. Brad Pitt witnessed the devastation that the BP oil spill was inflecting on the region spoke out.

The "Fight Club" and "Ocean's Eleven" actor, said he usually opposed capital punishment but would make an exception if he could.

He was speaking during a documentary on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which was to be aired on Tuesday night.

"I was never for the death penalty before -- I am willing to look at it again," the 46-year-old said when asked about the situation.

The Spike Lee documentary If God is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise will be broadcast on HBO Monday night
