Bret Michaels is in Critical Condition in Hospital April 23 With Massive Brain Hemorrhage

After undergoing an operation on his appendix, and hearing rumors that his daughter Raine Michaels had died, Bret Michaels is currently in hospital again April 23 after suffering what doctors say is a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is bleeding at the base of the brain.

Bret Michaels complained of a headache on Thursday and so was taken to a hospital, location unknown, only to discover the bleeding on his brain.

He is currently in critical condition and the next few days will be critical:

"After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation,"

Bret Michaels has his appendix taken out on April 12 in Texas, but it is not known at this time if the two conditions are related or not. Michaels had to undergo special treatment after his appendectomy, but he appeared to be healing really well and was reportedly in good spirits.

In a previous People interview he said:

"While the doctors are amazing in San Antonio, there is just no way around the fact that getting your appendix out HURTS. I have a pretty good threshold for pain, but this one hurts."

We hope that Bret Michaels gets well soon.

It is a shame that this guy rocks out most of his life and then can suddenly be so seriously ill.
