The British royal family has joined Twitter. (@royalfamily was already taken) Only a matter of time, really. The account's content is basically a series of press releases; I don't see much actual dialogue happening. Nor do I expect to.
It has also not escaped my attention that the royal family has not yet used the #turnmyswagon tag.
The Twitter account @BritishMonarchy has just gone live, following several weeks of testing.
Several weeks of testing?! Uh, Your Highness, that's not a drink holder... it's a CD-ROM drive.
Meanwhile, if you're in London town and you want to get a response to your tweets, you can use Twitter to order a black cab.

For a better example of royalty using Twitter, check out @QueenRania... very engaging tweets, great behind the scenes shots, and lots of personal insight. I highly recommend following her...

I'm not sure if this is real or not (I tried searching for BritishMonarchy but I couldn't find it) but I think its a really cool idea. What I like most about twitter is that you can see that celebrities and others are just real people and that they get excited about things like the rest of us.
