Ghalib was fleeing from an attempt to serve him with a restraining order initiated by Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears.  He allegedly hit the process server and then fled the scene in the silver Mercedes that was a gift from Britney Spears.

Adnan Ghalib first made headlines as the married boyfriend of Britney Spears during the months leading up to her highly publicized break down.  He was accused of not only cheating on his wife but of two-timing Britney as well.

After Britney Spears had a serious breakdown in 2008 her father Jamie Spears became trustee of her estate.  He immediately cut off all contact between his Britney Spears and Adnan Ghalib and has since served the one time paparazzo with several restraining orders.

Ghalib turned himself in to police on Wednesday and was released on $110,000 bail.  If convicted he could face up to seven years in jail.

Ghalib, Britney Spears’ 36-year-old former paparazzi boyfriend, was in Van Nuys Superior Court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to the charges, which stem from a January 30 incident in which where Ghalib allegedly “rammed” his car into a process server.

The photographer was released after posting $110,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 2.

“The victim was allegedly serving a temporary restraining order obtained by Spears’s father on paparazzi photographer Adnan Ghalib’s Encino apartment complex. Ghalib allegedly got into his car and drove it toward the victim,” according to a statement from the District Attorney’s office.

“To avoid being penned against a trash truck, the victim allegedly jumped on the hood of Ghalib’s Mercedes and hung on as the defendant swerved the car,” the statement continued. “The victim later fell off, breaking his wrist and sustaining other injuries. The defendant allegedly drove away without stopping.”

This is sad for Adnan Ghalib and now he should understand where he stands now compared to Britney. However the law will take its own course, but I shall not be surprised if more harsher punishment is slapped on the poor fellow.
