Britney Spears Has Allowed Un-Airbrushed Photos of Her Candie's Campaign to be Released

With more celebrities addressing airbrushing and body image (Jessica Simpson just appeared un-airbrushed and without make-up on the cover of Marie Claire), Britney Spears has allowed un-airbrushed and airbrushed photos of her to be released alongside each other to show how images are altered before they are published.

The Daily Mail has the photos of Britney Spears alongside each other and it clearly points out what has been changed in the airbrushed version of the photos.

In the first picture, Britney's waist has been made smaller, her thighs have been slimmed down and the bruises on her right shin and leg have been removed. Her skin tone is also a more even color and her feet look smaller and smoother.

In the second picture, Britney's back is facing the camera, and in the un-airbrushed shot cellulite can be seen on the backs of her thighs, she has a tattoo on her back, her thighs are bigger and her bum is not as small and perky. In the airbrushed shot, all these 'imperfections' have disappeared and her skin tone has also been changed and her feet and ankles look smaller again.

Britney Spears said she wanted to do this because she is proud of her body, and she wanted to bring attention to the pressure put on women to look perfect, when in reality, no one is perfect.

People seem to be responding well to the decision to publicly release both versions of the photos.

'I had so much fun shooting the Candies for Kohl's campaign. My favorite set-up was against the gigantic wall of pink cotton candy.'

And she added: 'I got to wear the cutest clothes and they are perfect for summer!'
