Britney Murphy's husband Simon Monjack said that his world was destroyed on Sunday when his wife died at just 32-years of age, but some sources are now speaking out that Simon had a shady past and was not as good for Brittany as some think. He has been called a bad influence on Brittany and her career.

Michael Z. Gordon, the director of Brittany's next movie Shrinking Charlotte has said that he was nervous about working with Murphy after he spoke to the production office of The Caller, which was the film Murphy was fired from two weeks ago.

“Monjack came on the set inebriated,” Gordon said he’d been told. “The producers wanted to keep him away. Brittany of course defended him. And so she was let go.”

Gordon did say that he liked Brittany though, and he even had plans for her to star in another of his films called Heart Stopper if this film had gone well.

Two other producers spoke about Monjack as well, with one saying he was a 'con man'.

Neither had anything nice to say, but one of them warned: “He’s a dangerous guy.”

These sources also said that Monjack pretended he always had money, when really he had none.

When Monjack and Murphy married there was speculation that he married her mostly to avoid being deported back to England as his visa had expired.

Then there’s the money: According to public records, Monjack has been the defendant in several lawsuits. In 2006, Coutts and Company, a British bank, received a court judgment against him of $470,132. In 2005, right before he met Murphy, Monjack and his girlfriend were evicted from their New York apartment for $7,025 in back rent. There was a similar incident in 1997 in Los Angeles.

Just after he was married to Murphy, Monjack was also dragged in to court by his ex-wife Simone Bienne who said that Simon hadn't paid her the $50,000 she was due from their 2006 divorce. The court ordered Simon to pay up plus interest.
