Three years ago, Brittany Muphy had a pretty successful song with Paul Oakenfeld called Faster Kill Pussycat, and she also sang covers of Somebody to Love, and Boogie Wonderland from the 2006 film Happy Feet

Sources told the E! Online reporter that music executives are digging to see what else they can find.

"Obviously this isn't a Michael Jackson thing, but people are definitely interested in Brittany and her story," one executive tells me. "Depending on what she may have recorded and what kind of quality it is, she could end up having a hit song or two."

Brittany Murphy actually used to be in a band called Blessed Soul in the early 90s, which she formed with 24 star Eric Balfour.

"Everyone's devastated. Everyone's in shock," Balfour told HollywoodLife.com earlier this week. "It's a tragedy...life is fragile."
