Chart-topping country duo Brooks and Dunn are breaking up. After 20 years together, Brooks & Dunn will embark on a farewell tour. The Brooks and Dunn website has their official word.
Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn are still planning the Last Rodeo Tour, and will release a greatest-hits record.
Brooks & Dunn put the breakup down to the passage of time and not to any animosity, and are famous for being close offstage as well as onstage.
We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time.
They topped the U.S. country singles charts 20 times with such tunes as "Brand New Man," the title track from their debut 1991 album; and "Only in America," a patriotic 2001 anthem used by both parties during election campaigns.
