Bruce Lee Biopic Film Trilogy Approved by Family
Legendary martial artist and film star Bruce Lee will be the subject of a trilogy of biographical films. Bruce Lee's family has approved the production of a filmed account of his earlier years.
Lee, whose films included Enter the Dragon and Fists of Fury, died of swelling of the brain at the age of 32.
Producer Manfred Wong said at least three films were planned, with the first focusing on Lee's teenage years.
Bruce Lee's brother and sister, Phoebe Lee and Robert Lee, are acting as producers, focusing not just on kung-fu but the personality of action cinema's biggest-ever star.
Bruce Lee, born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Hong Kong, died 36 years ago due to cerebral edema (swelling of the brain) as a side effect to pain killers, though the controversy continues to this day; some even believe that the Lee family is somehow cursed, since Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee was killed on the set of The Crow.
