This is not good news.  I never could understand why dog lovers insist on owning inherently dangerous animals, and then they can't understand it when the dog kills or seriously hurts and child or other person.

According to reports by dog bite lawyers in Los Angeles, there have recently been two separate dog bite attacks, the first occurred in the Rubidoux area.

According to the sheriffs office spokesman Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez the first of the two dog attacks occur on Friday afternoon when a man was taking a smoke break in his backyard when what has been termed family pets attacked and killed the man who has not been identified pending notification of family. The man was attacked by a male and female Pit Bull.

Deputies were contacted and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Sgt. Gutierrez it is unclear if the man was the owner of the Pit Bulls. Animal control officer were called and captured the dogs that will be euthinized.

The second dog bite attack occurred in Orange County in the vicinity of Laguna Hills according to County Animal Care Services spokesman Ryan Drabek, three Mastiff’s had to be euthanized after they attacked two people.

It is suspected a gardener might have left a gate open, which is how the dogs became loose, seriously biting a woman and biting a man in the leg when it struck them with a shovel so they would release the woman. The man has been identified as Ed Barnard, who stated the Mastiffs while attacking the woman shook her like a rag doll. This is when he and another neighbor got the dogs off of the woman and when Barnard was bitten in the leg.

The woman who was attack was said not to have life threatening injuries from the three Mastiff’s who weighted approximately 100 pounds each, attacked her.

Near where I live two children in separate attacks were killed this year by family 'pets' - dogs - in these cases Rotwiellers - leaving kids alone with some breeds is not a good thing - why do people need to own 'killer' or 'fight' dogs at all?

It is a lot of folks who want  to be gang bangers and wanna be's primarily.  Rotties are great guard dogs, but Pitbulls serve no real purpose other than to pretend like ur tough.

The dogs are not inherently dangerous. I've taken care of mastiffs, rotties, pit bulls and many other "threatening" dogs out there and they are only agressive if they were brought up that way by their owners.  I am a pitbull owner and he is the biggest baby of any dog I've ever cared for.  And I am pretty far from a "gang banger and wanna be."We need to stop blaming the breed and start looking at the owners. Dogs really just want to please their owners, and if that means fighting, that is what they will do.

Incidents like thing are truely unfourtunate and really should never happen. But to blame the breed is unreasonable. I am far from a "gang-banger", try, a married mother of three beautiful children, home owner, and radio personality. We just bought our first Bullmastiff pup and it was not to look tough or to have a sort of guard dog. We have studied the breed for over a year, and from talking with numerous other Mastiff owners we concluded that a Bullmastiff would suit our families lifestyle. We also aren't the kind of foo foo small dog owners. My husband and I have always had large breed dogs, his family has always had a Rotty in the house and my father breeds Labs. Currently my brother in law and his wife are living with us and they have a 6 month old Pitbull. She is the dumbest, happiest little creature who is afraid of the cats! To blame the breed is unfair. The responsibility falls on the dog owners shoulders. I would never leave my children unattended with any type of dog, but we really can't label one type of dog as more dangerous than another. There is always the potential for harm. If people were to train their dogs properly, we wouldn't hear of such things happening.
