Bye Bye Prop 8 | Celebration photos in the Capital
Several hundred people came to 21st and K, in the parking lot of McMartin Realty, to celebrate the overturn of Federal Prop 8 in Sacramento, the State Capital, last night.
All ages of folks were there, straight and gay, to honor and celebrate the court decision overturning the gay marriage ban yesterday.
It got off to a bit of a rocky start right after the announcement, when several gay couples headed over to the County Recorder's office to tie the knot.
They were turned down on the spot.
Part of the decision included a "stay", not allowing marriages to start immediately. It may be a matter of days before the stay is lifted.
Here are some snapshots from the historic day in Sacramento, CA.
