This is an eyewitness report from the NowPublic member Dwro8ea who was on the scene.

The Royal Academy of Arts is presenting a composition of Byzantine and Byzantine-influenced artefacts brought together by museums around the world such as the Benaki Museum (Athens) which is also the main collaborator for this exhibition along with The Museum of Byzantine and Christian Culture (Athens), Holy Monastery of St. Katherine (Sinai), The Metropolitan Museum of Arts (New York) and many others.
I managed to visit the exhibition last weekend and I have to say it's a big mistake to visit on a Saturday. It was very busy and there were far too many people in the exhibition area to the point we couldn't really enjoy the exhibition or see everything for that matter. As for the exhibition itself, I could say is is an interesting collection but maybe not the best Byzantine example. Especially if you have previously visited Byzantine museums in Greece then you will certainly won't be impressed.
The exhibition is sponsored by the J.F. Costopoulos Foundation, the A.G. Leventis Foundation, and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

Unfortunately it's always so busy on the weekends for these events. Thanks for this report though.
