Canada bans Pamela Anderson ad
The city of Montreal has officially banned Pamela Anderson's new PETA ad which displays the American actress' in a bikini with her body divided and labeled as various cuts of meat.
The image bears the slogan: "All Animals Have the Same Parts."
A Montreal official explained the ban: "[The advertisement] is not so much controversial, as it goes against all principles public organizations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women."
PETA senior vice president Dan Mathews responded: "I think that city officials are confusing 'sexy' with 'sexist.'"
Added Anderson: "In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that a woman would be banned from using her own body in a political protest over the suffering of cows and chickens."
