Following shocking death of Casey Johnson, the Johnson & Johnson heiress and fiancé to web-celeb Tila Tequila, the web has been set ablaze with news of the tragic socialite. Johnson was one of the great-great-granddaughters of Johnson & Johnson co-founder Robert Wood Johnson I. Daughter of New York Jets owner Robert Wood Johnson IV and Sale Johnson, Casey lived a controversy-filled 30 years.

At the age of eight Johnson was diagnosed with diabetes thus inciting her father to get involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in hopes of finding a cure for the disease. At the age of merely 14 Casey and her father co-wrote a book entitled Managing Your Child's Diet to help parents with diabetic children best adjust their kids' diets.

With the emergence of socialite as a legitimate platform for fame, a la Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, Johnson jumped on board when she appeared on VH1's 2003 show The Fabulous Life of..., a celebrity exposé inspired by Robin Leach's Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Johnson's life was then subjected to the public eye; in 2006 the heiress opened up about a falling out she had with her aunt, Elizabeth Ross "Libet" Johnson, after discovering she had been exchanging intimate emails with and eventually 'stealing' Casey's boyfriend. Not long after, in 2007, Casey adopted a young girl from Kazakhstan named Ava Monroe, named after her equally troubled icon Marilyn Monroe.

More recently Casey openly came out as a lesbian; in January of 2009 it was reported that  her ex-girlfriend, Courtenay Semel, set the heiress' hair on fire after a fight. The tumultuous relationship didn't stop there though: on November 30, 2009 Casey was arrested for stealing a number of items ranging from jewellery to legal documents and even underwear from Jasmine Lennard after Semmel tipped off authorities. Johnson allegedly left a vibrator and wet towel at the scene.

Just shy of a month ago, on December 9, 2009, it was announced that Tila Tequila and Johnson were engaged to be married. On a Ustream video, a lingerie-clad Tequila said, "tonight, my beautiful girlfriend has just asked me to marry her and check out this rock, Bam! That is a 17-carat diamond ring from my baby."

Johnson passed away on January 4, 2010 at her home in Los Angeles. Although the coroner has yet to release a toxicology report, her fiancé apparently believes prescription drugs were involved.
