Cassidy Arrested: Faces Murder, Attempted Murder Charges

Rapper Cassidy Arrested in New Jersey

Hip-hop artist Cassidy (born Barry Reese) was arrested over the weekend in Hackensack, New Jersey, and is under suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Cassidy was actually arrested on an outstanding warrant for probation violation, but he has become a suspect in a murder and two attempted murders in Philadelphia, his home town. Apparently, the Pennsylvania State Parole Board alerted Hackensack police that Cassidy was not reporting to his PO as expected, hence the warrant.

Cassidy to be Extradited to Philadelphia

Cassidy was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2006, and served a total of 15 months in jail. Cassidy is currently held in the Bergen County Jail Annex on $200,000 bail, and is awaiting extradition to Philadelphia.
