Catherine Zeta Jones Seeks Film Rights to Play Susan Boyle
Actress Catherine Zeta Jones was one of the millions of people who were deeply moved by Susan Boyle's performance on Britain's Got Talent.
So much so, in fact, that Zeta Jones has sought the film rights to Boyle's life story and is interested in portraying the singer on screen in a movie adaptation.
Other Hollywood heavyweights, including Titanic director James Cameron have, allegedly, also expressed interest in the project.
Yet, despite Boyle's online acclaim propelling her to the forefront of many people's minds, is she really, as the Britain's Got Talent producers claim, "the biggest thing in the world"?
She appears to be — for now. But the future of Boyle's celebrity status might well depend on which Hollywood star ends up with the movie rights to re-tell her story.
The 39-year-old apparently asked about the film rights to the singer's life story after being inspired by her appearance on Britain's Got Talent.
The Hollywood actress contacted the producers of the show after Miss Boyle became a huge hit in the US, the Daily Mail reported.
James Cameron, the Oscar-winning film director behind Titanic, is also believed to have expressed an interest in a similar project.
