Champion Beer of Britain 2011 - Oscar Wilde
CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale have spent the last year enjoying local tasting sessions, panels and regional heats leading up to the finals to decide which beer is the 'Best Beer' in Britain, and today at the Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court, London. they announced the winner; Mighty Oak brewery's Oscar Wilde is chosen as this years Best Beer in Britain. Oscar Wilde, which has an ABV of 3.7%, is described in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2011 as a 'roasty dark mild with suggestions of forest fruits and dark chocolate. A sweet taste yields to a more bitter finish'.
