Charlie Sheen’s  "Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is not an Option" was met with boos and jeers on its opening whirlwind tour of Winning show in Detroit.

Detroit theatre goers paid upwards  of $150.00 plus to see their idol, most expecting a Two and Half men show live onstage, with smatterings of Charlieisms to accompany the madness witnessed on Twitter.

Fans greeted Charlie and his two goddesses with a standing ovation, as anticipation filled the air for that nuclear meltdown fueled by Charlie and media hype.

Charlie didn’t disappoint, shortly into his set, the audience witnessed the downward slide of Charlie’s World and realized the meltdown was not worth the ticket price to hear rants and ramblings of the drug addled one could hear for free any day of the week on any street corner in the bad section of Detroit.

Theatre goers soon began to boo and leave the theater in droves, while Charlie did what he is famous for, being Charlie having a meltdown.   One dissatisfied concert goer yelled “Rip-off”, to which Charlie replied, Hey, I already have your money Dude!   Within the hour Charlie went for a break during a musical set, never to return to his unreceptive crowd.

Will future bad reviews torpedo Charlie's mega internship contest as thousands of fans mesmerized by Charlie jumped at a chance for 15 minutes of fame to be one of Charlie’s minions running Charlie’s Twitter account? One British Columbia resident is already in the running?

All in all the scathing reviews in the Detroit media and future media reviews of the Charlie Sheen tour may not bode well for his future shows, some are already sold out.

Charlie Sheen’s tour will hit town at the Rogers Arena on May 2nd, 2011 coinciding on the eve of our Federal Canadian Election coverage.

British Columbians will have a choice on May 2nd, witnessing two historic “Train Wrecks”, both with the same moniker of “Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is not an Option”…. Charlie Sheen and the Federal Canadian Election coverage on CBC, hmmm, decisions, decisions?

While only one Tour has T-Shirts for sale publicizing these events in advance, only Vancouver’s Ticketmaster, known never to turn down a buck will be selling exclusive limited edition Charlie Sheen Tour Shirt for $25.00.  While the Election tour will hand out Lawn signs for the asking featuring your favourite politician,  only winners need apply and get one!

While it is not clear which will be more entertaining, perhaps CBC showcasing their own style of Two and a Half Men election coverage featuring, Conservative Prime Minister Steven Harper, Federal New Democrat Leader Jack Layton, and half Canadian/American part time resident Liberal Leader Michael “Iggy” Ignatieff.

All two and half politicians are sure to please some and displease others as one of the Three and a Half Political Men will experience a crushing meltdown on National TV once all the federal votes are tallied.  I am betting IGGY!

The big question is will Vancouverites enjoy a Charlie Sheen train wreck to sate their morbid curiousity or go for a $300 million dollar Federal election train wreck occurring on the same night?

Doesn’t really matter?  In the words of politicians mirroring the sage words of Charlie Sheen “Hey, I already have your money Dude”!

Update. April 04, 2011

While Detroit fans of Charlie Sheen were less than kind, theatre goers in Chicago were much kinder, shouting "Detroit Sucks" much to Charlie Sheen's amusement.  Chicago theatre goers were treated to a hastily revised Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is not an Option show, with the assistance of an onstage interviewer, perhaps improving the show in the process left theatre goers wanting more, and some disappointed at the inital hype leading up to the show.

Charlies Q & A covered most topics theatre goers wanted to hear, tidbits on the Two and a Half men dispute to spending money on hookers.

The performance like Detroit that began with a standing ovation, ended with a standing ovation at the end of the performance.

It will be interesting to guage audience reaction at the next whistle stop as the Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is not an Option rolls into the next city.
