Charlie Sheen To Undergo Rehab At Promises Treatment Center For Brooke Mueller Christmas Day Assault
Charlie Sheen will not be going to jail for his assault on his wife Brooke Mueller.
The "Two and a Half Men" actor pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor third-degree assault in exchange for prosecutors dropping two other more serious charges, including a felony charge of menacing. He was sentenced to 30 days in a rehabilitation center, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
Charlie Sheen will "serve his time" at the Promises Treatment Center in Malibu
The charges stem from a Christmas Day 2009 dispute with his wife, Brooke Mueller, after which she told police that he'd threatened to kill her after she said she wanted a divorce and straddled her on a bed with one hand on her neck and the other hand holding a knife. He told police they'd argued, but he denied threatening her.
Shortly after Charlie Sheen's arrest Mueller and Sheen reconciled.
