Charlize Theron Premieres "Young Adult" in NYC
Bringing her latest project to the Big Apple, Charlize Theron stole the show at the New York City screening of "Young Adult" on Friday evening (November 18).
The Oscar-winning actress looked beautiful in black as she sashayed around the Tribeca Grand Screening Room for the Cinema Society & Dior Beauty hosted function.
Also on-hand for the NYC premiere was Miss Theron's co-stars Elizabeth Reaser and Patton Oswalt, as well as fellow actress Kaylee DeFer.
Due in theaters on December 16th, "Young Adult" is directed by Jason Reitman while written by "Juno" mastermind Diablo Cody, who also turned up at the screening.
The picture finds Charlize's character as alcoholic author Mavis Gary return to her quaint Midwest hometown in hopes of reconnecting with her old flame, though she is met with a serious roadblock - her former high school beau is now married with children.
Making her arrival on the East Coast, Charlize Theron was spotted at JFK International Airport in New York City this past Wednesday (November 16).
The “Italian Job” actress looked to be in good spirits as she exited the terminal, sporting a grey scarf and striped sweater.
Theron gushed, "She just turned 21. When I think about myself at 21, I had just done 'The Devil's Advocate,' and [co-star] Keanu [Reeves] had paparazzi following him, and Al Pacino said this thing to me: 'If I knew that my life would be under this kind of scrutiny, I would have never become an actor.' And I thought, 'Wow.' I couldn't comprehend it."
"Kristen is just living this to the max and still has a sense of humor about it. There's this really lovely quality about her that just doesn't give a f---. A lot of people say they don't, but then they go home and cry and pop a Xanax. Kristen actually doesn't give a f---. That's what's so refreshing about her."
