Chaz Bono: Becoming More of a Man Everyday, Couldn't Be Happier
Chaz, formerly Chastity, Bono is slowly but surely becoming more and more of a man everyday and judging from his recent two-part interview with Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight, he couldn't be happier. After being kicked out of the house by mother Cher when he was 18 years-old for coming out as a lesbian, Chaz's transition to becoming a man hasn't been easy or quick but now he is starting to see results. "I shave about once a week now. It kind of started to come in just like peach fuzz. I always wanted to shave. It is a very natural process," Chaz stated in the interview; he even got shaving accessories for his birthday.
Since Chaz's sex change in March of this year his mother, Cher, has publicly stated her support for her son's decision.
The 40 year-old Chaz has been on a regimented hormone treatment since surgery and has begun to notice results and changes. "I am literally going through puberty," Chaz stated.
"It lowered my voice. Fat redistributes, muscle growth, hair growth, sex drive increases," Chaz reveals on "Entertainment Tonight". "It doesn't change anything mentally and emotionally."
During the lengthy interview, Chaz, now 40, confesses that even as a child, he felt like a man.
"There wasn't much feminine about me. I believe that gender is something between your ears, not between your legs," he tells Hart during the interview. "I was turning 40 and I thought it's now or never. I want to still feel vibrant and be able to enjoy my life in a male body and not wait until I am an old man."
To catch part-one of the interview in it's entirety tune in to Thursday's Entertainment Tonight airing on CBS.
